Every Right Prayer
from Streams in the Desert
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking...and he said, Blessed be Jehovah…who hath not forsaken his lovingkindness and his truth" (Gen. 24:15, 27).
Every right prayer is answered before the prayer itself is finished--before we have "done speaking." This is because God has pledged His Word to us that whatsoever we ask in Christ's name (that is, in oneness with Christ and His will) and in faith, shall be done.
As God's Word cannot fail, whenever we meet those simple conditions in prayer, the answer to our prayer has been granted and completed in Heaven as we pray, even though its showing forth on earth may not occur until long afterward.
So it is well to close every prayer with praise to God for the answer that He has already granted; He who never forsakes His loving-kindness and His truth. (See Daniel 9:20-27 and 10:12.)

When we believe for a blessing, we must take the attitude of faith, and begin to act and pray as if we had the blessing. We must treat God as if He had given us our request. We must lean our weight over upon Him for the thing that we have claimed, and just take it for granted that He gives it, and is going to continue to give it. This is the attitude of trust.
When the wife is married, she at once falls into a new attitude, and acts in accordance with the fact; and so when we take Christ as our Savior, as our Sanctifier, as our Healer, or as our Deliverer, He expects us to fall into the attitude of recognizing Him in the capacity that we have claimed, and expect Him to be to us all that we have trusted Him for.

The Supreme Importance Of God's Word To The Believer
by C. R. Stam
The Bible will always have first place in the life of the spiritual Christian.
It is of utmost importance that we understand this, for some who feel themselves quite spiritual give much time to prayer, but little, if any, to the study of the Word. Such have actually fallen for the subtle trick of the adversary to play upon their natural human pride and cause them to exalt self and push God into the back ground.
In saying this we do not for one moment minimize the importance of prayer; we only stress the supreme importance of the holy Word of God. In this we are surely Scriptural, for David says, by inspiration:
"For Thou hast magnified Thy Word above all Thy name" (Psa.138:2).
Of those who would still object and place first emphasis upon prayer rather than upon the Word, we would ask one simple question: Which is the more important, what we have to say to God or what He has to say to us? There can be but one answer to this question, for obviously what God has to say to us is infinitely more important than anything we might have to say to Him. Our prayers are as fraught with failure as we are, but the Word of God is infallible, immutable and eternal.
Yet some, having fallen for one of Satan's "devices" and feeling quite spiritual about it, are like the talkative person to whom one listens and listens, occasionally nodding his head, but receiving little or no opportunity to "get a word in edgewise." They do all the talking, but give little time listening to what God has to say to them.
No Washing Up Ham, Egg & Cheese Pockets
These pockets filled with ham, egg and cheese take 2 minutes to assemble and you won't have a single dirty dish to wash! No need to measure the filling exactly, just eye ball it. Use this recipe as a base and fill these pockets with whatever you want - salami, cooked bacon, spinach, olives - the possibilities are endless! Tip: Don't go overboard with the filling, will make it tricky to wrap.
Ingredients
- 2 soft large wraps / tortillas (approx 23 cm / 9" diameter) (Note 1)
- 110-150 g / 3.5-5 oz ham slices (Note 3)
- 1/2 - 2/3 cups grated cheddar or tasty cheese (or any other melting cheese) (Note 2)
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180C/350F (all oven types).
- Place 2 pieces of foil on a work surface and spray with oil (any).
- Place tortilla on foil. Place ham in the middle of the tortilla, making sure you arrange it so it is flat, not a mound (harder to keep egg in place). Even better, create a shallow crater shape using off ham off cuts and shavings.
- Place cheese in the middle of the ham, the form into a ring.
- Working quickly (one pocket at a time), crack an egg into the ring then fold the bottom and top edges in, then the left and right side to form a package (see video below recipe). Then wrap in foil. DO NOT TURN UPSIDE DOWN!!! (Egg will leak)
- Place on baking tray.
- Bake for 25 minutes. Check to ensure yolk is cooked by poking the pocket, you will feel the dome shape of the yolk. The base and edges should be crispy and the top will be soft.
- Unwrap immediately (otherwise will sweat and lose crispiness). Serve hot!
Recipe Notes:
1. I use Mission soft wraps and large tortillas.
2. You can use any cheese that melts, like Monterey Jack, Gruyere, even Swiss. I usually don't make this with mozzarella cheese because it doesn't have as much flavour, but can if you want to!
3. I made this with leftover Christmas ham sliced pretty thinly. But you can use any ham you want - or even sub with other cured meat of choice.
4. This is not suitable for freezing because cooked whites go a bit rubbery.

Fourth of July
Kid Jokes
Submitted by wadejagz
The Fourth of July weekend was approaching, and Miss Pelham, the nursery school teacher, took the opportunity to tell her class about patriotism.
"We live in a great country," she announced. "One of the things we should be happy about is, in this country we are all free."
Trevor, who was a little boy in her class, came walking up to her from the back of the room. He stood with his hands on his hips and said loudly, "I'm not free. I'm four!"
