(This article was written for someone by request. They received their copy and I thought others may enjoy reading it along with a poem written in 1990. Joyce Mizell)
Heaven will be a wonderful city for the saints of God to spend eternity. Everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and is saved and obeys his Word has a paid in full ticket. Jesus paid the price with his shed blood on Calvary .
We read such comforting words in John 14:1-4 where Jesus is speaking telling us the way to the Father. 1-Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2-In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3-And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am ye may be also. 4-And whether I go you know and the way ye know.
The old Hymn “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be” has been sung through the ages. We read all about it in the Word of God. This earth is not our permanent dwelling. The Word describes us as Pilgrims passing through this way. When planning to take a trip with my family I try to get Brochures to read about the places we would like to visit.
We become familiar with what’s in store to visit and view. We can do the same about Heaven. Read the Word and follow the map it gives to Heaven. The Word of God is not a brochure to use on special occasions. It’s God’s Truth to live and obey!
The Word of God tells us there will be activity in heaven. Heaven is a City of Hope for the saved. There will be singing, serving; praising and other things just to name a few.
It will be a city of no night because the Glory of God will be the Light. One only need read Luke 9:29 to learn about the Light of God. Jesus prayed and was transfigured. His countenance was altered. His remnant was white and glistering. Peter, James and John witnessed the change on the mountains were this took place. 2 Corinthians 3: 7-18 is another example of the Heavenly Light.
In heaven ever thing will be made new. There will be no more tears, sickness death and all the things that trouble us in earthly life. All things will be made new.
As for me personally when I see Jesus I know I will fall to my knees in thanks. How can I ever thank Jesus enough for dying for me? After entering that glorious beautiful City where I will live forever I know I’ll want to see the prophets who did God’s will and carried the gospel, many at the cost of their life.
There’s no doubt about it I’ll look for my family, friends and all the others who have touched my life. When I realize they are in heaven it will be joy unspeakable.
Heaven will be a place of rest and happiness. Think about it-we spend countless days during a life time with trials and tribulations but in Heaven it will be peace and rest.
Heaven is a wonderful place to spend eternity!
Jesus told us in his Word he would prepare a place for all who love him and I believe all he said. I hope you do too! Books are kept in heaven and our name must be written in the Lamb’s Book Of Life. Recently the census was taken in our country. Think what would have happened if we belonged in another country. This is only a small comparison of what would happen if our name isn’t registered in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
We can imagine and paint our picture of the beauty of heaven from Revelation 21. Read it and be thrilled and amazed at the splendor of what Jesus went to prepare for all who love him. The Words of 1st Corinthians 2:9-10-But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered unto the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared, for them that love Him. 10-But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit; for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Expensive jewelry is important to many people here on earth. It’s given as gifts on many occasions to those we love. Let’s look at the beautiful City called Heaven. This is what Jesus went to prepare for all who love him. Revelation Chapter 21.
Heaven is that City that Abraham looked for whose builder and maker is God. Hebrew 11:10 -For he looked for a city which had foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
That city called Heaven will be 1500 miles wide and high with 12 gates. We will have perfect security in our new home. The brilliant, magnificent stones will reflect the Glorious Light of God in the city that will have no more night. The gold of the streets will be so perfect it will be clear as glass. Read all about the stones that will be in Heaven’s structure. Jasper, sapphire, emerald, beryl, topaz, chalcedony, chrysoprasus, jacinth, sardonys, sardius, amethyst, and those streets made of pure gold. (Some Bible words have different spellings) Revelation Chapter 21.
Thinking about Heaven we must remember what we read in Matthew about laying up treasures in heaven. Matt. 6:20-But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. 21-For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. A book could be written about heaven using all the Scriptures where we learn more and more. Even a good life on this earth has its troubles. Who would chose to miss Heaven for a place called Hell?
Attention is given in scripture to different things that will not be in heaven. There will be no more marrying or giving in marriage. Luke 20: 34-36. There will be no death, no tears, sorrow, crying or pain. There will be no more curse. There will be no more night nor will there be need for light because the Son of God will be the light of heaven. Revelation 21:4, 27. 22: 3, 5. Jesus descended from Heaven. John 3: 13 and was taken back up into heaven .Acts 1: 9-10. He died on the Cross of Calvary, was buried and rose again. He was seen by many after his resurrection. Later he was taken back to Heaven. Mark 16:19-So then after the Lord had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Luke 24: 50-55. Acts 1: 1-11
Jesus went back to Heaven. Keep in mind that where he is we can be with him. The beautiful city of Heaven is too wonderful to miss. Search the scriptures, they testify of Jesus.
Jesus will return from heaven for his Saints.1st Thessalonians 4: 16-For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17-Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 17-Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
